Sam Smith was born on March 6, 1974. She was raised in Lymm, Cheshire and attended St. Thomas’ C of E Primary School in Stockton Heath. Her debut novel, Harbor Nights, was published in 1994, marking the beginning of a successful literary career. A devoted advocate for human rights and animal welfare, Sam divides her time between her hometown in Cheshire and Miami, Florida, where she shares her days with two loyal dogs, one determined cat, and far too many stories waiting to be told. In 2012, she founded an animal rescue dedicated to helping feral cats and continues to lead a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program in partnership with local veterinarians and shelters.
