Sam Smith was born on March 6, 1974. She was raised in Lymm, Cheshire and attended St. Thomas’ C of E Primary School in Stockton Heath. Her debut novel, Harbor Nights, was published in 1994, marking the beginning of a successful literary career. A devoted advocate for human rights and animal welfare, Sam divides her time between her hometown in Cheshire and Miami, Florida, where she lives with her two dogs and a cat. In 2012, she founded an animal rescue dedicated to helping feral cats and continues to lead a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program in partnership with local veterinarians and shelters.
